BES Flowmeters supplies rotameters for liquid and gas flow measurement across Australian industry, laboratories, medical facilities and process plants. A rotameter is a type of variable area flow meter — one of the most widely used, trusted and cost-effective flow measurement technologies available. BES stocks the BES 7200 Series and MPB Industries rotameter range.
What is a Rotameter?
A rotameter (also called a variable area flow meter or VA flow meter) consists of a vertically mounted tapered tube containing a float. As fluid flows upward through the tube, the float rises to a position where the upward fluid force equals the downward gravitational force on the float. The float position on the calibrated scale indicates flow rate. Rotameters require no power, no electronics and no external signal conditioning — making them exceptionally reliable and low-maintenance.
BES 7200 Series Rotameters
The BES 7200 Series Clearview rotameter is our most popular model. The borosilicate glass tube provides excellent chemical resistance and clear float visibility. Available calibrated for water, oil, air, oxygen, nitrogen, CO2 and other fluids. Panel-mount and in-line configurations available.
MPB Industries Rotameters
MPB Industries produces a comprehensive rotameter range for industrial liquid, industrial gas, medical gas, laboratory and veterinary applications — including the compact 1200 series through to the heavy-duty 3500 series industrial rotameter.
Applications
BES rotameters are used in chemical dosing, water treatment, laboratory gas measurement, medical and anaesthetic gas monitoring, compressed air monitoring, food and beverage CO2 measurement and industrial process control.
