Flow switches are available in many configurations and are used for the display and monitoring of the flow of many process gases and liquids. The flow meter generally incorporates a flow sensor that produces an electrical output relative to a specific flow rate. Applications include low flow detection for pipe leakage, low flow water levels, dry running protection of pumps and cooling and lubricating circuits. High and low flow alarms on our range can also be obtained within our flow switch range.

We can supply in-line, or panel mounted, flow switches for many process gases and liquids typical of the series 630, 1000, 1200, 1750, 3000 variable area flow meters with an adjustable latching alarm device that are factory set or can be preset by the operator and are widely used in the water and analyzer industries.

The unique viscosity compensated range of variable area flow meters are also a cost-effective option for users seeking to control oil flows. A typical example is the Kobold VKS model flow meter, designed for water and oil applications. This style of flow meter uses a spring-loaded float that slides within a cylindrical measuring tube and has an integral orifice. This and other design features allow this style of flow meter to accurately measure your oil or water flow and switch at the appropriate preset value while compensating for viscosity of the product even with very low flows.

Thanks to viscosity and density compensation the flow meters and switches of the latest generation are suitable both for water and viscous oil, without having to change the scale and without readjustment.
